68-69 Barnes High Street, Barnes London SW13 9LD
Nestled in a bend of the River Thames, Barnes is an affluent and popular suburban district with a village atmosphere in the London Borough of Richmond-upon-Thames in south west London. On the west riverside, Edwardian and Victorian properties line the streets near Barnes Pond, forming the ‘Barnes Village’ conservation area. On the east riverside, by the London Wetland Centre, converted depositories, modern apartment buildings and townhouses form the exclusive Harrods Village and Barnes Waterside developments.
Bordering Mortlake, ‘Little Chelsea’ is a small enclave of streets lined with pastel terraced cottages surrounding White Hart Lane. In 2017 the borough topped Rightmove polls as the happiest place to live in London.
