Richard graduated from university having studied civil engineering, after graduating he spent a year as part of a team building a coastal onshore oil terminal, before entering the property industry to become an estate agent in London.

Richard joined Chestertons in 1996 and having experience in both sales and lettings, he worked his way up through the company from the rank of negotiator to manager and successfully ran a number of the Chestertons offices.

In 2005 Richard moved into a senior management role, heading up the lettings division and later on, all of residential.

In 2008 when Chestertons acquired Humberts, Richard established lettings departments in many of the country offices and then went on to lead the sale of the Humberts lettings portfolio to Countrywide in 2014.

Richard has played an instrumental role in driving the residential agency business through acquisitions and organic growth, which represents Chestertons of today, being one of the strongest and most successful London agents, winning many industry awards.

In 2023 when Chestertons became part of the Campions Group (having been acquired by Emeria UK) , Richard transitioned from COO to Managing Director of Chestertons. Being part of the Campions Executive Team, Richard also holds the position of UK Operations Director representing Chestertons and other residential agency brands within the group.
