A highly sought-after, residential community in Fulham, Munster Village is a unique corner of London known for its Victorian and Edwardian properties, on what are sometimes referred to as the 'Alphabet Streets' because its road names start with A, B, C, and so forth.
Within easy reach of beauty spots including Bishop’s Park, Parson’s Green or Hurlingham Park, it boasts independent shops and restaurants, while enjoying seamless access to everything that London has to offer. Unsurprisingly, it's ideal for city workers, families, and those with a passion for the art and culture that's so abundant in the capital.

Part of Fulham, but with its own distinct identity, Munster Village has evolved over the course of the centuries from rural farmland to a highly sought-after place to live. Its location on the outskirts of central London made it something of a haven, with its tree-lined streets famed for its markets that supplied fruit, veg and flowers to their more famous counterparts in central London.
It was during the 18th and early 19th centuries in particular, that development began to escalate, as transport systems improved and railways encouraged the area to flourish. It's for that reason today's residents are blessed with such classic properties to choose from, and where its village feel originates.
The origins of the name 'Munster' are up for some debate, but possibly relate to Munster House, a historic property that once stood near the western end of Munster Road. Records suggest the house may have been associated with Melesina Schulenberg, Duchess of Munster, in the 18th century. The building was eventually demolished around 1895 as the surrounding area was developed.
Like many parts of Fulham, the roads we know today were rebuilt in place of former estates, and Munster Village is one such location. However, nods to that heritage remain in the form of some impressive trees and monikers. That said, as London's population grew in the Victorian period, that's when we saw this area evolve into a more established neighbourhood.
